Margin

The margin you actually keep, order by order

Gross margin tells you almost nothing once card fees and shipping have taken their cut. Margeny subtracts the costs that really hit each order, so the number on screen is money you get to keep.

How it works

    1

We pull the cost of every item you sold from Shopify, then layer each order's payment fees and your shipping cost on top.

    2

Every order gets a margin waterfall: gross sales, minus COGS, minus payment fees, minus shipping, minus refunds. No averages, no rounding away the leaks.

    3

Open any single order to see where its margin went, or read the daily roll-up to catch the days that quietly lost money.

What you'll see

  • Contribution margin per order and per day, not just a gross percentage
  • A waterfall that walks from gross sales down to what you keep
  • Refunds counted on the day they were issued, so a good week isn't flattered by last month's returns

Worth knowing

Payment fees come from Shopify Payments today. If you collect through another gateway, those fees aren't in the number yet, and we'd rather show the gap than invent it.
